Plot: Praybeyt Benjamin is the story of Benjamin Santos VIII (Vice Ganda), a gay from a family of straight men who all happened to be soldiers. His father, Benjamin VII, wanted to stop from being a soldier and be a scientist instead, so Grandfather Benjamin threw them out of the house. Almost 20 years later, we see Benjamin VIII as an all-out gay, his father now a home-based scientist. Things changed when terrorists took Grandfather Benjamin and his other sons. The AFP, now lost their head general, needed more people in their side. To get more people, they required every man in the family to join their troop with their fight against the terrorists. Will Benjamin VIII join the army and save his Grandfather?

Plot: Action director Ching Siu-Tung helms this fantasy film based on an old Chinese legend about an herbalist who falls in love with a thousand-year-old White Snake disguised as a woman. Jet Li stars as a sorcerer who discovers her true identity and battles to save the man's soul.

Plot: We all know that Pixar makes incredible movies, I personally have never disliked a Pixar film. The first "Cars" film, was a great movie, not a perfect film. It was one of the least better films, Pixar has made, but that's like saying, Insomnia was one of Christopher Nolan's worst films. I had high expectations when coming to see the film, like I always have before I see a Pixar film.

After my viewing of the film, I have to say Pixar never fails to produce a great, entertaining film. Although it doesn't reach the heights of Wall-E, Toy Story 3, etc. It still stands by itself pretty high up there. The animation is extremely well done, the look of the film is amazing. The voice actors are great, I miss Paul Newman though. Although the film is not perfect. The movie is not perfect though, the story is not great, but not bad, the movie does not have the emotional as other Pixar films, but it is definitely not a heartless film. But the film is definitely entertaining and a great beginning to 2011 Summer movie season. Take your whole family to see this movie, it will probably not disappoint. It will not only satisfy kids, but also the adults, this film is for everyone. Fun for kids, but the adults can also connect with it and will have a great time watching this movie in theaters. It is quite an adventure and I will be glad to give it a second viewing.

Less than two weeks ago, Steve Jobs, one of the world’s greatest innovators, passed away. His death is still being mourned around the globe. Apple’s homepage still only features a portrait of Steve Jobs; no marketing, whatsoever, despite the iPhone 4S launch. Steve Jobs has made an impact on the daily lives of millions of people that will never be forgotten.

As such, Discovery Channel will be hosting a special one-hour documentary titled “iGenius: How Steve Jobs Changed the World” tonight at 8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT, and “will include interviews with various people whose lives were greatly impacted by Jobs.” Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman of Discovery’s Mythbusters will be hosting the special.

    “Someone once said that to follow the path that others have laid before you is a very reasonable course of action, therefore all progress is made by unreasonable men,” Savage said. “Steve Jobs was an unreasonable man. He didn’t simply give the public what they wanted, he defined entirely new ways of thinking about our lives in the digital space: productivity, creativity, music, communication, media and art. He has touched, directly and indirectly, all of our lives.”

It will be interesting to see Savage and Hyneman, both innovators themselves, express their own thoughts and feelings for Steve Jobs, along with others. No doubt, millions will be tuned into the special tonight. Will you be one of them?

Plot: The two-hour documentary will explore the origins of zombie myths and lore, from the Viking Age to the Black Death in Europe, both of which spawned legends of the dead walking the earth, and all the way up to the present day fears of a zombie apocalypse.

Featured will be many authors of zombie fiction including Max Brooks, J.L. Bourne, Jonathan Maberry and Roger Ma, as well as Daniel W. Dreznor, professor of international politics at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and Dr. Steven Schlozman, psychiatrist on the faculty of at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School and author of the fiction book The Zombie Autopsies.

Information about the program is strangely missing from the History Channel’s website, except that it is listed in their TV schedule with no clickable links, but more info can be found on the show’s Facebook page. Here’s a chilling quote from there: “Since the beginning of time they have embodied our deepest fears and today their power to frighten us is more potent than ever before. They are the monster that history cannot kill.”

Plot: Michael Jordan to the Max is an American documentary released in IMAX in 2000. The film is about the life and career of basketball player Michael Jordan, focusing mainly on him during the 1998 NBA Playoffs. It is narrated by Laurence Fishburne.

The film includes appearances by numerous celebrities and professional athletes including Phil Jackson, Doug Collins, Bob Costas, Bill Murray, Ken Griffey, Jr., Steve Kerr, Spike Lee, Willie Mays, Stan Musial, Ahmad Rashad, and Pat Riley.

This documentary showcases basketball player Michael Jordan's awe-inspiring moves, providing behind-the-scenes and on-the-court action, including footage of Jordan and the Chicago Bulls going head-to-head against the Utah Jazz in the 1997 NBA Finals. Phil Jackson and Bob Costas are interviewed (among others), and the awesome soundtrack includes songs by Earth, Wind and Fire, Fatboy Slim and Freddie King.

Plot: The Kreen-Akrore are a forest Indian tribe living in the Amazon basin of Brazil who successfully managed to evade the cameras and crew accompanying the Villas Boas brothers during their attempt to make first contact with these hostile and entirely unknown people. The search for the Kreen-Akrore lends itself to a documentary style which uses the conventions of narrative cinema, unfolding the events chronologically, while building up the tension and suspense of the search: for example subjective' shots are utilised to give the impression of what it is like to be watched, by unseen eyes in a hostile jungle. Some of the scenes are clearly staged, thus helping to reconstruct the events and tensions of the search.

Co-photographed by the great Chris Menges (Kes, The Killing Fields), this British TV documentary from 1970 seems consistent with some of the best fiction films that explored the Amazonian jungle in the 1980s. Like Fitzcarraldo, The Emerald Forest and The Mission (which Menges also shot), Adrian Cowell’s film accepts the anthropological while never surrendering the sense of mystery.

Following a couple of experts into the jungle as they search for the unknown Kreen Akrore tribe, the search is arduous: they can cover no more than a mile a day as they hack away at the jungle foliage determined to find this most mysterious and dangerous of tribes. What little is known about them is based on their willingness to kill everyone with whom they come into contact. And anybody who knows and loves Peter Watkins’ work (The War Game, Culloden) should take a look at this. (Tony McKibbin).

This special will look at the storied and strange history of Marijuana in America. Probably one of the better documentaries, mostly seems pro-cannabis and by far the most pro-cannabis documentary thus far released by the History Channel.

The documentary attempts to educate everyone who still has a Reefer Madness mindset, who still thinks cannabis prohibition is reasonable, and who have no idea that widespread cannabis use is relatively harmless compared to alcohol, tobacco, and especially pharmaceutical and other drugs.

Plot: The rise and fall of the biggest drug lord in history - After 499 days on the run, Columbian Special Forces finally track Pablo Escobar to a safe house in his hometown of Medellín. The Search Bloc use Escobar’s telephone signal to pinpoint his exact location. Zero hour occurs as they storm the building, catching Escobar and his men off-guard, and ending the reign of the richest and most violent criminal in history.

In most businesses, seeing a return on investment (ROI) of 100% would be more than enough for a company to thrive. By some estimates, notorious Colombian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar enjoyed an ROI of as much as 20,000%. Put another way, for every $1 he put into his business, he got about $200 in return.

That is one seductive ROI, for certain. It doesn't account for risk, but for most of Escobar's professional life at the head of the Medellin cartel, the risk wasn't his, nor was it financial: The risk fell to the lives of Pablo's rivals and to the lives of the (mostly) American dealers who pushed his product to the users who snorted it. Only after his wealth, notoriety and brutality made him the target of both big governments and small (but determined) vigilante groups did Escobar finally endure some risk. Not surprisingly, on December 2, 1993, a day after his 44th birthday, it caught up with him in the most permanent way after a rooftop chase-down in a middle-class part of Medellin.

1- Rats ate $1 billion of Pablo Escobar's profits each year
The first thing you didn't know about Pablo Escobar testifies to an uncommon, staggering degree of wealth. According to Roberto Escobar, one of Pablo's closest brothers, at a time when their estimated profits were circling $20 billion annually "Pablo was earning so much that each year we would write off 10% of the money because the rats would eat it in storage or it would be damaged by water or lost."

If that weren't enough to drop your jaw, Roberto adds that the cartel spent as much as $2,500 every month on rubber bands to "hold the money together."

2- Pablo Escobar's paradise now houses refugees and hippos
Near the small northwestern Colombian town of Puerto Triunfo, Pablo Escobar once built himself a vacation getaway befitting a man of his stature. Hacienda Napoles was just shy of paradise, spread across almost 5,000 acres (7.7 sq-mi.) and featuring everything from pools to a bullring to an exotic zoo with hippos, giraffes, elephants, and more. Stories of enormous drug-fueled parties at Hacienda Napoles with some of Colombia's most powerful and most beautiful in attendance continue to circulate, contributing to the legend of Escobar.

Today, though, that paradise is in ruins. Everything that could be gutted has been gutted by people looking for rumored stashes of coke or cash. Its only residents are families of refugees from the country's war against guerrilla fighters and about 20 hippos which roam the area with the same kind of impunity that Pablo enjoyed decades ago.

3- Pablo Escobar was suspected of bombing the World Trade Center
Another thing you didn't know about Pablo Escobar is that he was named as an early suspect in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Shortly after the bombing, which killed six and injured over 1,000, a New York City prosecutor publicly suggested that the bombing could have been carried out by any "enemy of the U.S.," including Escobar's Medellin cartel.

Well, Pablo may have assassinated a presidential candidate (Luis Carlos Galán), threatened to kill the offspring of a sitting U.S. president (allegedly one of Bush Sr.'s sons), blown a commercial jet out of the sky (Avianca Flight 203), and orchestrated the attempted slaughter of the Colombian Supreme Court (Palace of Justice siege), but bomb the World Trade Center? Escobar was sufficiently offended, enough so that he sent a handwritten note to the U.S. Ambassador to Colombia declaring his innocence. "You can take me off the list," he assured Ambassador Morris Busby, "because if I had done it I would be saying why I did it and what I want."

4- Pablo Escobar built his own barrio
Medellin is Colombia's second largest city (with almost 2.5 million residents), but it is, and always will be, linked by name to the legacy of Pablo Escobar's cocaine cartel. To many of the city's poorest people, Escobar -- whom they called Don Pablo -- was nothing short of Robin Hood in the flesh, a reputation he enjoys among some to this day.

In his prime, he was undeniably a public works tour de force, establishing food programs, building parks and soccer fields, but his masterstroke may have been Barrio Pablo Escobar, a neighborhood of 450 red brick homes housing a couple thousand of Medellin's most indigent. Did they pay rent? Nope. Property taxes? No way.

The only problem? Writing for the Washington Post in 1989, Michael Isikoff noted a growing frustration among the barrio's residents with kids from other areas coming to Barrio Pablo Escobar to peddle drugs.

5- Pablo Escobar bought a Learjet to fly his cash
The last thing you didn't know about Pablo Escobar is that he had an interesting solution to a very rare kind of cash flow problem. Escobar and his cartel began to see soaring profits rather quickly. His being a cash business, Escobar needed to get that U.S. cash back to Colombia. For a while, the small plane he used to transport that cash was sufficient, as it could hold about $10 million. Keeping in mind Escobar's estimated ROI of 20,000%, and that he was getting cocaine to the U.S. by a wide variety of methods (including a pair of submarines which would each carry about 1,000 kilos), it's no surprise that he needed an upgrade. Escobar thus bought a Learjet, a substantially faster plane and one that could carry as much as 10 times the amount of cash. Problem solved.

As a huge fan of the Transformers animated series, I like the first Transformers film. The visuals were spectacular and so were the fighting scenes When I saw Transformers 2, which is a HUGE mess of a film, I was really angry. I vowed never to see a Transformers film ever again. But when the trailer of Transformers 3 came out, I actually got a little interested. I mean the special effects were pretty much great as usual. But this time, it seemed they took off the annoying little robots and that annoying mother and replaced them with good old fashioned action.

When I went to an advanced screening yesterday, I still came in with relatively low expectations. I have to say, that Transformers 3 is an overall improvement from its predecessor, Transformers 2. The film was pretty much at level with the first film, though. The action scenes were highly extravagant and at times, pretty epic. The movie had a lot less lame scenes, which is always a plus. The acting was okay. Megan Fox's replacement, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was okay, but she's certainly not a good actress, but a mediocre one, actually I liked her more than Megan Fox. I liked how the movie used the Apollo landing as a part of its story, like in Forrest Gump. However there were so many characters that were extremely thinly written. John Turturro's character was definitely not needed and some of the dialogue was incoherent and very messy, at times. The movie is also way too long, at 157 minutes, wow. I thought the last scene with Megatron was completely rushed and so was the ending. Although the last hour of the film is pretty epic at times, so I was fulfilled with the visual effects.

Overall I rate Transformers 3, an 8/10. Don't go in expecting a Best Picture winner/nominee. With the right amount of expectations, you will probably be fulfilled. A definite improvement over Revenge of the Fallen, which doesn't say much. But at the end, the great special effects and extremely extravagant action scenes more than make up its flaws. A summer flick that rises above the usual, noisy summer blockbuster films. I definitely recommend this film if you overall liked the franchise.
